Our design service at Wakefield Bathrooms is something we are very passionate about; every project is taken into account on an individual basis. Your dream bathroom is as individual as you are, and we take pride in working collaboratively with our clients every step of the way, offering a personal, hands-on service from the initial contact all the way through to completion.
Some of our clients have a blank canvas and want to be wowed by our in-house designers, delivering the bathroom they dreamed of. Others have a clear picture of exactly what they want to achieve, no matter which it is for you, we are here to assist and make your dreams a reality.
We also work closely with some interior designers and bathroom developers, who love designing as much as we do, we are here to work with anyone in the Yorkshire region to deliver outstanding designer bathrooms
① Step One
Brief Consultation
We welcome all to visit out showroom for a design meeting, this is a starting point and one where we can better understand your requirements, at this stage you can look around our showroom and be inspired by our well designed and planned bathroom settings, we will discuss styles, colours, and try get an understanding of how you will use your new bathroom, we will also get a feel for what you are planning on investing in this new project, all this information will help us to create the perfect bathroom design.
The design consultation will take around an hour per room, this service is completely free of charge. Following the consultation, we request a small deposit (£180) to begin the design process, this enables us to invest the time your project requires, this is reimbursed as a credit when you proceed to purchasing your new bathroom from Wakefield Bathrooms.
② Step Two
Home Design Visit
Now we move on to step two, one of our expert designers will visit your home, measure the desired room(s) and get a feel for the space. At this stage we will talk a little more about your design ideas from Step one, and have a better understanding of whether or not that design can become reality. It’s always great for us to see ideas of what you would expect from your bathroom at this stage, any saved Pinterest boards, Instagram ideas or magazine cut outs would usually work great and give us a true feel for what your aims and inspirations are.
If the room we are planning is being created (e.g. building a new ensuite in a bedroom) we would still like to visit and get a feel for the space and take some accurate measurements. If your room is in a new build project we can work off the Architects plans until the room is formed.
Please note: At this stage, if you are outside our catchment area we would still be more than happy to come out and go through this, we may have a small additional charge for travel and time costs.
③ Step Three
Bathroom Design
Following the home design visit, we will return to the showroom and our design experts will go to work; creating your dream bathroom using virtual worlds design software, with the measurements and information we discussed in the earlier appointments. At this stage we will design draft of your new bathroom and bring your ideas to life.
The initial design isn’t always perfect first time, don’t worry though, we can make changes to the layout and colour scheme at any point during the process.
We aim to turnaround this step fairly quickly; we like to have this ready for your design presentation within a week of the home design visit.
④ Step Four
Design Presentation
Welcome back to the showroom. Now we will run through the original brief, explain the design choices we have made based on our meetings so far, and present you with your new bathroom design. We do encourage all our clients to voice their honest opinion on this design, although we do our very best to present what we feel is a wow bathroom, all of our clients have different ideas on how the bathroom will work and the styles within that bathroom, it’s our responsibility to work together to make sure you get the perfect bathroom.
Once we are happy that the design meets all the requirements, we can sign the design off and start the quotation process. We may already have a quotation ready for you based on the design we created, again, this can be altered based on any amendments you have made to the design, but it gives us a really good starting point.
Based on your budget we discussed, we will select the best possible quality of products, this quotation will include all bathroom materials, plumbing and tiling materials required, and also the installation costs. This will be a complete package quotation to include installation with our in-house installation teams.
⑤ Step Five
Appointing WB
Once you are fully satisfied with the proposal, we would like you to appoint Wakefield Bathrooms to carry out your new project, what does that mean and what is the process?
Once we have been appointed we ask for a 15% deposit, we will then provide you with a project job pack, this will include: Quotation, Designs (Both 3D visuals and measurements) Terms & conditions, payment plan and an invoice for your deposit. We will then appoint an installation team and arrange a home site survey; this is to double check everything and make sure your dream bathroom can be as smooth and stress free as possible.
Next step is to supply an installation date, this isn’t a fixed starting date, but more of a guide, unfortunately we cannot 100% guarantee the works schedule runs to plan, we come across unforeseen works from time to time that have a knock-on effect on our diary, it’s not ideal but is totally out of our control.
Once we start the project, we will ask for another payment to cover the goods supplied within the installation process, this just leaves one more payment that would be due on completion of your project.
